Depending on your age, you may or may not remember the old station wagons. This looks long and thin, they would be for 5 people under normal circumstances. The cool thing was, if you need space for a few more people, there was usually a fold down seat that you could pop in the back. We called it "the way back" and all the children wanted to sit there behind. The cars even that is cool, the tailgate was down, like a pick-up, but also swung open side ways. (Check out the Honda Ridgeline truck for the only car I've seen this feature in the last 20 years)
But the combination was in favor of SUVs and vans. This is not necessarily a bad thing. This SUV's look pretty cool, are high from the ground, and people feel safe in them. Minivans even though they are sometimes a bit of a stigma about as useful to a vehicle that has ever been made. The amount of people voted with the massive cargo space and seating, so that they, like no other vehicle that has ever been made. Both will take a minimum of 7 passengers. Here are 7 of the most popular.

Most of them can get in around 20 MPG city / highway combined, are not terribly terrible.
Honda Pilot
The pilot-cam in 2003 (to replace the Passport) and was always highly rated from the beginning. The latest release came in 2009, and not disappoint them. They come in 2WD or 4WD and have a variable cylinder management system for better gas mileage.

The Minivan
The Dodge Caravan minivan, the laurels for the first back on the road in the 1980s hit. They were very popular form the beginning and have slowed down a bit. Although she jokingly "Soccer Mom" Stigma has to drive many people of all ages these very useful and practical vehicles.
Chrysler Town and Country
Always rated among the top 3 of the minivans, the Town & Country and offers perfect comfort. The signature is that all the seats, including the 2nd Row fold flat into the floor without dragging them out of the car.
Honda Odyssey
Also among the top 3, as published in the rankings came. With its full captain's chairs in the 2nd Line, comfort and fuel economy of any major value of the Odyssey. Look for a major redesign of the vehicle in 2010.
Toyota Sienna
Toyota 7 cars is now the only minivan to offer an AWD option.
